Philippe Benichou
Biography and Resume

Philippe Benichou is a French-American artist currently living in Topanga, CA. Born in 1957, his mother, Arlette Oger, and his uncle, Jean Oger, were established artists in France, and influenced Philippe’s creativity at an early age. Philippe formally studied with well-known art educator and sculptor Francis Coelho, in San Francisco, CA. Exhibitions of his work take place worldwide, including those at MOCA Museum of Computer Art in New York, and his paintings belong to public and private collections in the U.S. and Europe. He is the recipient of awards and prizes in United States for his artistic merit. An important part of his development as a fine artist is owed to working extensively as a performer, as Philippe is highly respected figure within the performing arts field and the original founder of the Hollywood Actors Studio (est. 1989) where he has teaches and lectures on creativity and artistic self-expression since 1989. He was made an honorary member of the Actors Studio in 1981 and a graduate of Uta Hagen’s academy of actors at HB Studio. He continues to study art as it relates to self-realization and the healing powers of color and abstract compositions.
